Curl and Waves

Curly hair naturally needs extra hydration. By providing them with the necessary nourishing products, the curls are more likely to be better defined and beautiful. This counts for all types of curls and waves.

Curls come in different shapes and sizes, from simple waves to much tighter curls, on either fine, medium of coarse hair. Besides, the tighter the curls, the duller, the dryer and the weaker the hair may be. Thus, a tightly-curled mane will almost always result in an easily tangled one. The solution lies in nourishing hair care products which will help preserve the hair’s elasticity by providing it with the necessary hydration. Leave-in treatments, oils and curls activating creams are among the best daily hair care products available for curly and damaged hair.

Leave-in curling creams are moisturizers that provide extended, moisturizing care for all types of curls. These products generally have no to little hold and are used to activate or define the curl.

Gels are leave-ins and offer defined, plump curls. Gels provide hold and definition to curls, and sometimes leave a shiny finish throughout the hair.

Curl enhancer sprays are helpful in refreshing the curl, providing extra hydration and controlling frizz.

All curls are different and each person looks for a different effect. Take control of your hair and use the treatments that best suit your needs!

What is the difference between wavy hair and curly hair?

Wavy hair (2A-2B-2C)

Has a rather soft texture and is easily malleable. Although waves are a subcategory of curls, their needs are mostly different. Essentially, wavy hair retains moisture better because it tends to be naturally less dry than curly hair. Waves naturally smooth out more easily and may flatten out under the weight of too much products.

Curly hair (3A-3B-3C)

Tends to produce a lot of frizz, creating a beautiful halo of hair. The curls are large, floating spirals and the texture tends to be thick. The curls often vary in shape around the head. It should be remembered that the dryness will ruffle the curls. You have to offer a lot of hydration to maintain the definition and shine of the curls.

Coily hair (4A)

Is tight corkscrew curls that crumple up and give extreme volume. They tend to be thiner in texture and light to the touch. Tight curly hair needs extreme moisture to stay soft and defined.

Tight curls (4B-4C)

Need full hydration. Hair fibers are delicate and need nourishing care and protection to avoid breaking. They easily transform into an afro with an impressive volume.
